Located about 5 miles north of the Santa Clarita Marriott-flagged hotels is the Six Flags® Magic Mountain Theme Park. Getting there from the hotels couldn’t be easier. Simply take Interstate-5 north towards Sacramento to exit #170, the Magic Mountain Parkway and turn left under the freeway.
SIX FLAGS® MAGIC MOUNTAIN
Known world-wide as a thrill ride haven, the 260-acre theme park features over 100 rides, games and attractions for the entire family. This is the most popular and famous of all the Six Flags® Theme Parks across America and has been featured in many movies such as the 1983 movie National Lampoon's Vacation. Six Flags® Magic Mountain owns the title of "most roller coasters at one park" with seventeen. In addition to the coasters the park has many other rides and attractions for kids and adults of all ages. This extreme theme park will not leave you looking for thrills. Their newest ride, Tatu® made its debut in May 2006.
Tatsu is a steel flying roller coaster and is the park's seventeenth coaster. Designed to simulate flight, the 3,602 foot track passes over four areas of the park and features an elevation change of 263 feet. The ride has a maximum speed of 62 mph and broke records with a 124 foot pretzel loop. It’s a three and a half minute ride that accommodates an average of 1600 riders an hour. "Tatsu" is a Japanese word meaning "flying beast" or "dragon."
